The festival is pleased to announce an exciting new performers'
venue, Rising Stars, to provide emerging Native American and
World flute talent relatively new to the public concert scene
a showcase venue in which they can be heard and appreciated
by the flute and music communities. This venue provides a
public stage on which emerging artists can refine their performance
skills, gain visibility in the community, and shine. This
venue is specifically to support artists seeking to emerge,
newly-emerging talent, and recently first- or second-time
recorded artists. Note: this is not a competition.
The Rising Stars Showcase will be held on Friday, June 8 and
Saturday, June 9 from 1:30 - 4:00pm. Selected talent will
each have 30 minutes of stage time.
Selecting the Rising Stars was a very difficult task because
of the many high quality applicants. Our panel selected the
following individuals for this showcase though many more could
have been selected if the playing time was available. Many
thanks to all of you who applied.
